Even it is shorted from an ANIMATION, it should not called as cartoon because from what I understand cartoon is supposed to refer as a funny drawing or animation. Here I love to share how the Japanese people (well of course there are other people around the world but here we talk about them) share their ideology or finding an identity by show it through an entertainments.
I picked No Game No Life (NGNL) for an example. There is an episode where they play a chess, an awesome chess to fight for (no spoil). As we all knew chess is one of a war based game, we see people play, sometimes we play as a hobby or simply to have fun.But did you ever wonder what happen when the horse being kill, bishop being kick or castle being tore? Why queen has more superior move but opposite to the king? For me, there is a reason, message that being passed down to generation in the game.
